Our Story.
When the blizzard of May 1, 2017 hit northwestern Kansas, Jarrett was reconsidering his decision to calve out his first group of first-calf, AI-bred heifers. Some say people are refined by fire, but in this case, he was refined by the bitter cold of 14 inches of snow, a ranger without doors (let alone a heater), and losing his cell phone halfway through the night. But, by the end of the day, all heifers were accounted for, calves were paired, and not a single calf was lost.
On that day, he found a niche in the cattle industry that we are still passionate about.
Jarrett and his wife Leandra started developing and breeding Black Angus heifers for retention in the fall of 2021. In the fall of 2023, we decided to purchase high quality heifers for development, breeding, and sale. Being a family-run operation with three children under four has its adventures, but we have been bountifully blessed with the opportunity and means to reach our goals.
